Title: Her Ideal Job
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Tosh.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 568: Privilege at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Tosh feels privileged to work for Torchwood.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
However she’d come to be there, and however difficult, not to mention dangerous, her job could be, Tosh felt privileged to work for Torchwood.
When she’d been recruited, straight out of a bleak UNIT prison, she’d fully expected to be treated like a prisoner by her new boss, or at best an indentured servant, but that had never happened. Right from the start Jack had shown her respect and admiration, his pride in her considerable skills had filled her with a warm glow, and although she’d basically signed a contract stating she would work for him for five years in order to win her freedom, the work was so varied and fascinating that she’d never minded.
The longer she’d been there the more she’d come to love what she did. Yes, the hours were often long and exhausting, and she’d suffered both minor and major injuries, but looking back over the past five years it all seemed a small price to pay for the wonders she’d seen.
Now she was coming to the end of her contract; she could leave, do whatever she wanted, but she knew she wouldn’t. Torchwood was her home; she didn’t want to work anywhere else.
The End
