Title: Stupid Accident Part 1
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Jack, Ianto.
Rating: PG
Written For: Challenge 567: Ring at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Stupid accidents happen all the time when you work for Torchwood.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“Should I ring your sister?” Jack asked, holding Ianto’s hand as the ambulance swept towards the nearest hospital, sirens blaring.
Ianto merely blinked groggily back at his lover, too dazed to formulate coherent thoughts never mind words.
Jack carried on talking, ignoring the lack of reply. “If I call her, she’ll worry, probably come haring to the hospital. But if I don’t and she finds out later, she’ll be mad at me. She’s scary.”
It had been a stupid accident, as most of Ianto’s accidents tended to be; they’d been chasing a Weevil and Ianto had been in the lead, running flat out. The Weevil had turned sharply into an alley, Ianto had followed, tripped on a stray cat that had no doubt been startled by the Weevil, and fallen heavily on a broken bottle, bashing his head on a dumpster on the way down and knocking himself out.
Jack had skidded to a halt, took one look at the blood, and decided calling an ambulance would be better, not to mention quicker, than calling Owen, who’d probably be halfway drunk by now.
“I’ll ring her after you’ve been examined,” Jack decided. He had no idea how he’d explain this.
