A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto stopped dead, hands on his hips, staring in disbelief. “You have got to be kidding me!”
There stood the SUV, a large yellow device locked to one of its wheels.
“What’s up?” Jack appeared at his elbow.
“We’ve been clamped, that’s what!” Ianto glared daggers at the clamp, as if the sheer heat of his gaze might possibly melt it.
“What? We can’t have! Our permit is clearly on display, plus we have the emergency response vehicle stickers in the side windows! We’re cleared to park wherever we need to for as long as necessary!”
“I know that, but apparently the private company responsible for patrolling the business park didn’t get the memo.” Pulling out his phone, Ianto punched in the number displayed on the clamp. “Hello? Yes, my vehicle has been clamped…”
“There’ll be an eighty pound charge for unclamping. Someone will be with you within three hours once payment has been received,” the bored voice on the other end of the phone informed him.
“Your people have clamped an emergency response vehicle displaying exemption permits. Put your manager on, unless you want to be charged with obstruction.”
Beside Ianto, Jack leered. “I love it when you’re forceful.”
