Title: Insensitive
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Owen, Gwen, Ianto
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 561: Attitude at
tw100.
Spoilers: Cyberwoman, Countrycide.
Summary: Ianto hasn’t forgotten recent events even if his colleagues have.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“Lighten up,” Owen groused as Ianto silently set a mug of coffee on his workstation. “You’re bringin’ the rest of us down, moping around like a wet weekend. Your attitude needs some adjustments.”
“Owen’s right,” Gwen agreed. “You should smile more, pet. Looking miserable all the time isn’t good for team morale.”
Ianto set Gwen’s mug down carefully on her desk and gritted his teeth; ten days ago he’d been tied up and tenderised by cannibals who intended to butcher him. Barely five weeks before that, both Gwen and Owen had helped kill what was left of Lisa, and while Ianto was now able to accept that the cyber implants had taken over by that point, it didn’t mean he wasn’t still grieving.
He hadn’t expected the rest of the team to easily forgive him for his betrayal; his actions could have killed them all, but couldn’t they at least show a small measure of sensitivity over his loss?
“Can’t see I have anything to smile about right now. You executed the woman I loved, and I still have cracked ribs from being beaten with a baseball bat,” he said quietly. “Wish I could forget as easily as you have.”
