A/N: Double drabble.
It was such a stupid mistake; Ryo had thanked the witnesses for their help and turned to leave the store only to miss the door and walk smack into the plate glass window beside it. Granted, it had just been cleaned and was so clear it looked like nothing was there, but rebounding off it and falling on his ass was hardly going to inspire confidence in his ability to solve crime. Worse, when he hit it the window rang like a bell; everyone nearby turned to look.
Dee was no help; he was doubled over laughing like it was the funniest thing he’d seen all year. If he didn’t shut up, Ryo might tell everyone about the time Dee lost his pants chasing a suspect over a fence. Now that had been funny.
Face flaming, he picked himself up off the floor and dusted off the seat of his pants before beating a hasty retreat, out the door this time, aware of Dee following, still laughing.
“I know; I’m an idiot. It wasn’t that funny though,” Ryo muttered to his partner as they headed for their car.
“Yeah it was,” Dee grinned. “’Cause I almost did the same thing.”
