Title: Awkward Conversation

Summary: While on a stakeout together, JJ asks Ryo a very awkward question.

A/N: This one’s a double drabble and a half, 250 words.
“Are you a top or a bottom?” JJ asked out of the blue, making conversation while he and Ryo were on stakeout together.
Ryo blinked, lowering his takeaway coffee cup and gracing his fellow detective with a baffled look.
“Top or bottom what?”
“You know, in bed.” At Ryo’s blank expression, JJ added, “Sex? I mean I’m a bottom and I always figured Dee would prefer to top, like Drake, so that would make you a bottom…” JJ trailed off.
Ryo was blushing furiously. “I’m not sure this is the best topic of conversation for a stakeout.”
“Okay, I just thought I’d ask since… well, nobody else is likely to overhear.”
Silence fell in the car as both men sipped their coffee. Finally Ryo spoke, so quietly JJ barely heard. “Both. I mean we’ve done it both ways.”
“Oh. Drake says it’s different with a man than with a woman. I wouldn’t know; I’ve never been with a woman like that. I don’t think I could if I tried, I just don’t find girls attractive.”
“Me neither,” Ryo admitted. “But I have. You know, with a girl. Never really enjoyed it. I mean it was okay I guess, but not like…” He ducked his head, blushing again.
“So is it different with a guy?”
“I suppose. Guys are… firmer, tighter, less complicated. It’s just better. Preparation takes longer but… that’s part of the fun.”
“Yeah.”
Silence fell again as they went back to watching the building.
