Sliding down from the barstool where he’d spent the last hour or so, Ryo wobbled dangerously; Dee immediately reached to steady him.


“Easy there, bud; don’t want ya fallin’ down and hurtin’ yourself. Maybe ya should’a gone a bit easier on the booze.”


Ryo turned a withering look on his partner. “I was drinking ginger ale; you know I’m not allowed alcohol because of the painkillers.”


“Hey, lighten up; I was just teasin’ ya.”


“I know, sorry.” Ryo accepted the crutches his lover handed him, tucking them under his arms. “I’m just so ready to get out of this cast.”
