Setting: Early in the manga.
Summary: Bikky is in a hurry to go out and play.
Written Using: The tw100 prompt ‘Lace’.

A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
“Bikky, tie your laces properly before you wind up falling over them,” Ryo admonished as the boy headed for the door.
“But Ryo, my friends are waiting!”
“They’ll be waiting even longer if you trip and go headfirst down the stairs. You could end up in the hospital, if you don’t break your neck and kill yourself.”
That brought Bikky up short; he didn’t want to get himself killed just because of a trailing shoelace. Plonking himself down on the floor, he tied both laces with a knot after the bow, pulling them tight. “Is that okay?”
“Much better,” Ryo said approvingly. “Off you go, and have fun. Don’t be late home; dinner’s at six.”
“Okay. See you tonight!” Bikky was out the door like a shot, haring down the stairs.
Ryo shook his head, chuckling. If only Bikky was that eager to get going on a school day.
That evening, Ryo was in the kitchen cooking dinner when Bikky came home. He heard the front door close and then complete silence, which was odd. Bikky usually kicked off his shoes and came running straight into the kitchen to see what was for dinner.
Going to investigate, he found the boy sitting on the floor, wrestling with his sneakers.
“Bikky? Everything alright?”
“No!” The boy looked up at him sheepishly. “I think I tied my laces too tight; now I can’t get them undone!”
Laughing, Ryo crouched down to help. “At least they didn’t come loose and trip you up.”
