Summary: Ianto and Jack arrive on an alien planet at a bad time.

A/N: Double drabble. Set in my Ghost of a Chance ‘Verse.




“I regret to inform you,” the alien medic said, an expression of sorrow on hir face, “the one you call ‘Jack’ is no more. It was too severely injured; we were unable to restore life. I offer my sincere condolences.”


They’d only intended to make a brief stopover on the planet, just long enough to drop off their cargo and hopefully secure an outgoing load. Tinder’s World’s main export was a very potent alcoholic beverage that was highly prized throughout this end of the Milky Way; if they could bargain for a few dozen cases they could practically name their own price if they took it as far as the more affluent worlds around Galactic Centre.


Unfortunately, they’d arrived at a bad time and got caught up in an attack carried out by a militant group from a neighbouring planet who considered alcohol to be the devil’s work. Jack had been caught in an explosion.


Ianto’s only consolation was that it had been quick; Jack wouldn’t have suffered much. As he gasped back to life, startling the medical team, Ianto gave a wry smile. “I regret to inform you that death never really sticks with him; he always comes back.”

Well ... my students are driving me crazy, my daughter has just come back from her exchange programme in Germany, I have rescued another stray dog so I'd say I am pretty busy .. but happy.

How many dogs do you have and what's the new one like?

I'm busy too, so many things I want to do - cross stitch, gardening, writing, and now knitting because I've just managed to get most of my yarn out of storage after 9 years. Knitting is quite painful because of my arthritis, but I'm not letting that stop me. I have so much wool I want to use! I'm starting simple though, knitting winter blankets for my action figures.

Of course! I really missed her a lot this time!
Now I have two female cats of 10 and 9 years old, a female dog of 2 years who suffers from epilepsy so she needs some treatment and the new refugee is a male dog similar to a white Pomerania, really cute! I also have a frog and a family of four hummingbirds.
Well, you are the artisan of our TW fandom! I am sure you will make beautiful things with that yarn.
YAY, I want pics of those blankets, pretty please????

Your pets sound lovely, especially the frog and the hummingbirds, even though they're not really pets. I saw a frog in my garden a couple of days ago. First I've sen in a while. Your new dog sounds adorable!

I'm hoping to do a little photo story once I get the blankets finished and can find the time.
