Characters: Dee, Ted, Ryo.
Rating: G
Challenge: 137: On The Other Hand at
drabble_weekly.
Spoilers/Setting: After Like Like Love.
Summary: Dee and Ryo don’t want anyone finding out they just got hitched.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: Double drabble.
First day back at work after their Las Vegas vacation, and it was unrealistic for Dee and Ryo to hope that none of their detective friends would notice anything different about them, but they had it covered. Their relationship wasn’t common knowledge, only their closest friends and family knew they were together; nobody was gonna find out they’d gone to Vegas to get hitched.
“Hey so what’s with the nifty signet rings you two have on?” Ted asked, coming to perch on the edge of Dee’s desk. “Never figured you for wearing jewellery.”
“Whaddaya mean?” Dee asked, indignant. “I wear stuff.” He pulled the St Christopher medallion out from inside his shirt.
“I meant rings. Seriously, what’s that about?”
Dee gave an exasperated sigh. “It’s no big deal; we just won a bit of money at the tables and wanted a memento, somethin’ that would last. Pretty cool, huh?”
“I guess.”
At his desk, Ryo smiled to himself; it had been Dee’s idea to get rings they could wear at work, even if it did mean instead of having them on their ring fingers they had to wear them on the other hand, leaving their wedding bands safe at home.
