A/N: Double drabble.

Insects were a nuisance at the best of times; living in the city didn’t mean the natural world stayed where it belonged. Come to think of it, New York probably had more cockroaches than people, and then there were the silverfish, other beetles, flies and mosquitoes, bees and wasps, moths of every shape and size, butterflies… Well, okay, butterflies weren’t that much of a nuisance, they were pretty, but everything else Dee could well do without. He wasn’t scared of them, he just didn’t see why there should have to be so many of them.

Here he and Ryo were, trying to have a nice, relaxing picnic and before they knew it there were ants trying to run off with their lunch, wasps getting at the fruit, and flies all over anything that wasn’t covered. And don’t even get him started on the gnats, and the midges, and the mosquitoes, all vying to make a meal out of anyone not smothered with insect repellent.

He flattened another one on his arm, leaving behind a smear of his own blood, and hoping he wouldn’t develop another itchy spot; he had more than enough of those already. They should’ve just stayed home.
