Summary: The boys try to figure out the reason for Nosy’s colour change.

Still puzzling over Nosy’s colour change, Ianto turned to Jack.

“Maybe it blends into its surroundings, like a chameleon.”

Jack snorted. “It’s getting greener by the day! Unless it’s planning on spending its entire life in the hothouse, which I doubt, it’s going to be highly visible in here.” He gestured to indicate the complete absence of anything remotely green around them.

“Well, maybe it doesn’t feel the need to hide now so it’s reverting to its natural colour.”

“Maybe it’d faded due to poor diet,” suggested Owen, joining them.

“Is that possible?”

Owen shrugged.

“Good an explanation as any.”

A/N: This was going to be the end, but then I read everyone’s comments on the first part and I couldn’t resist writing just one more.

Oh *nose*, poor diet? I hope it's not that. That would suggest they're not taking good care of Nosy and they try so hard.

Owen's thinking that Nosy's colour is improving now that it's eating better. Not much nutrition in the moss and lichen it was eating before they found it. (Personally, I think the caffeine makes its coat nice and glossy!)

One more part tomorrow where we (but not the Torchwood team) find out the real reason for Nosy's vivid green colour!

Oh, I misread that! That'll teach me to comment before I've had my morning coffee. (Ianto would be so disappointed in me! :-p)

Owen's theory makes perfect sense now. And yes, I'm sure the caffeine is the secret ingredient that makes Fluffs nice and shiny. I know it makes me feel nice and shiny. :D

I couldn't have the HAD in there properly because I couldn't fit it in the word count, so it's not as clear as I would have liked. It's good the MS Word counts smooshed together words as one word, I'd be in trouble otherwise!

Well, there's that caffeine shampoo nowadays, but surely you can get the same results just by drinking coffee, no need to put it on your hair! It it works for Fluffs, there's no reason it shouldn't work for people too! Drink your coffee and shine!

Now, that makes as much sense as anything. Nosy is alien, after all, and it really could be caused by pretty much anything.

Owen's starting to move on with his life. The angry phase he'd been in since losing Katie is in the past now. He's accepted her death and is ready to love again. In a way, he's growing up. He's still very much Owen - snarky and sarcastic - but he's developing a softer side and I think Nosy is helping with that. Fluffs are empathic, so maybe its helping to soothe Owen and is bringing out his better qualities.

There will be more Nosy fics, both drabbles and longer pieces when I get them written. The final drabble in this trilogy should hopefully be posted tomorrow and there are other fics (non-Nosy) being written as well. I hope you'll enjoy them too. Thanks for commenting!

Heehee! That song was part of the inspiration for this series, although the title of this one is inspired by the song 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' which I love. (The first part was a slight twist to a book title, Greener Than You Think. Good SF novel.
