Title: Brilliant Idea
Author:

Characters: Dee, Ryo
Rating: PG
Setting: After Vol. 6, Act 17.
Summary: Dee does have good ideas sometimes…
Written Using: The tw100 prompt ‘Idea’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: This one’s a triple drabble.
Dee suddenly sat bolt upright from where he’d been lounging untidily on Ryo’s sofa; recently he’d taken to making himself completely at home, so much so that Ryo was starting to view him as part of the furnishings, at least when he wasn’t moving, so he was startled by his partner’s abrupt and unexpected switch from horizontal to vertical.
“I’ve just had a brilliant idea!”
Those words were enough to strike fear into Ryo’s heart. He knew his partner well, having been working with Dee for a couple of years now, and he was well aware that Dee wanted more from their friendship that Ryo himself did, at least for now. He wasn’t ready to take their relationship to a more intimate level. The last idea Dee had come up with was the whole ‘test drive’ thing a couple of months back. Was he about to suggest they give that another try, having been interrupted last time? Ryo wasn’t at all sure what he’d say if that was the case.
“Idea? What sort of idea?” he asked warily.
“We should hold a raffle to raise money for the orphanage. Mother says she needs a new washing machine.”
“Oh.” That actually was a pretty good idea, but… “What would we do for prizes?”
“Haven’t worked that part out yet,” Dee admitted. “Maybe we could get some local businesses to donate prizes.”
“That could work.” Ryo dropped down on the sofa beside his partner. “First prize could be dinner for two at a restaurant, always assuming we could find one willing to participate.”
“Good thinking. We can start asking around tomorrow; I know two or three places we might be able to get onboard. Bet my stylist would donate a free haircut to the cause. This calls for a celebration!”
Dee pounced.
