Summary: Tosh is running for her life – and for Ianto’s.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Breathing hard, heart pounding in her chest, Tosh stumbled on through the woods.

The uneven ground, littered with roots and fallen branches, was treacherous in the darkness and having her hands tied behind her back threw her balance off, but she couldn’t stop, didn’t dare look back. He was behind her somewhere, that evil man with his crazy eyes and sharp knife, intent on butchering her.

She was already exhausted, but Ianto was alone back there. He’d risked everything giving her this chance to escape. She couldn’t let him down.

Keep going; find Jack, save Ianto. Nothing else mattered now.

She tried so hard in that episode, but Evan knew the woods while Tosh didn't. She never really had a chance but Torchwood agents don't give up.

What a harrowing scene! The first time I saw "Countrycide" I could barely watch those scenes with Tosh running away. They seemed to go on for SO LONG. And you just KNEW the cannibal would catch her... it was only a matter of when. *Shudder*

Great job capturing this in 100 words.

Yeah, those were among the scariest scenes in the episode, Tosh all alone, hands tied, trying to run through dark woodland with that maniac Evan close behind. There was no doubt she would be caught really, but there was no way of knowing what he would do to her once he caught her, or what was happening to Ianto back in the slaughterhouse. It seemed the perfect fit for the prompt.

The prompt seemed ideal for something canon-based and when I had a think about the various episodes, that was the scene that jumped out at me. It was just so scary watching Tosh trying to escape, hands tied, but she didn't give up.

Great piece. I watched this ep again recently and what I love about that scene is that when Tosh gets caught again, she's not scared, she's just furious she got caught - I loved it.

She's a lot tougher than I think she's given credit for, and it shows throughout the series, right down to the moment Gray shoots her and yet she still battles on while dying, trying to prevent the meltdown and save Owen.

Countryside still has the power to give me the willies. Tosh/Ianto interactions in this episode made me a fan girl of the friendship.

Me too, I think it's probably the creepiest episode. *shudders*

Tosh was so brave, and trying to reassure Ianto. And then Ianto took a huge chance trying to help Tosh escape. I always wished we'd had more scenes of them working together, but there were so few.
