Title: Resolved
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: JJ, Dee.
Rating: G
Setting: Just before Like Like Love.
Summary: JJ has lost the battle to win Dee’s heart.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Resolution’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
So that was it; Dee would never be his. JJ had suspected for a while, but there was no doubt in his mind, not anymore. Ryo had won. Dee had told him to his face, and as much as it hurt, JJ realised he had to accept it.
It had been tempting to go home, lock the door, turn out the lights, pull the covers over his head and stay in bed wallowing in misery for the foreseeable future, but what good would that have done? Instead, he’d sat on his sofa with a box of tissues and a pint of ice cream, had a good cry over the unfairness of the world, then pulled himself together.
Scraping the last of the ice cream out of the tub, JJ licked his spoon clean and sat up straighter, resolved not to let his wrecked dreams get him down. There were other fish in the sea, maybe not as gorgeous as Dee, but a whole lot nicer and more caring. Looks weren’t everything.
‘My perfect someone is out there somewhere,’ he told himself. ‘All I have to do is start looking and I’ll find him.’
He’d waste no more time on Dee.
The End
