Title: Ginger
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 215: Red / Blue at [livejournal.com profile] dw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: The Doctor wishes his hair was red.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

The Doctor loved Donna Noble, she was smart, feisty, brave, funny, and generally amazing in every way, but he also envied her, because she had something he wanted; red hair.

Here he was, well into his tenth regeneration, and his hair had been dark brown, light brown, blond, even white, but never red. He’d wanted to be ginger for ages, but sadly had no idea how to influence what he would look like after regenerating; it was all a bit random.

Still, the next best thing to being ginger was travelling with one. He was having the best fun ever!

The End

And that is why Donna was brought into the TARDIS instead of the other way around.:)

She sure does!

I guess he should have dyed his hair.

Yes, that must be it. Romana went from a brunette to a blonde when she regenerated. She was suppose to be better at controlling her regenerations than the Doctor. I remember she changed a few times before settling on looking like Princess Astra.

Okay. It would have been interesting if they had put the changing gender thing when Romana regenerated.

Its like the River Song storyline. Something that was not explored before on the show. Someone who knew the Doctor before he knew them.

River being someone but Amy's daughter perhaps?

It could have been interesting if River had been a future version of the Doctor.

Well, some people thought River was too smug. But she had a right too. Although she didn't know her own fate.

For me personally, I was glad to be pass the "Rose is the Doctors soul mate" thing.

I knew Alex Kingston from E.R but I hadn't seen her acting until she was on Doctor Who.

River Song got to do almost as much as what the Doctor did such as fly the TARDIS and regenerate so that was close enough.

At least it was different. Donna came a close second but I didn't like how it was handled in the end.

In James Bond, they had a "Bond" woman instead of a "Bond" girl.

Sometimes the formula has to change a bit or else it gets too stale. Why not a mature woman?

We need a guy back in the TARDIS that is not part of some love triangle. Like in the old series.

The worse thing ever. I sometimes pretend that it never happened. It inspired me to write my own fics.

I remember Leela sometimes screamed but she also like to defend herself with weapons. The actress pointed out she was made to wear next to nothing for the "dad" viewers.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. Maybe it will be a paternal love. Please make that the case.*hopes*

Oh please no. I don't want the first female Doctor to be wearing next to nothing simply for male viewers!

There has already been conflict between male writers and so forth in the old series. I don't want the new series to be compromised purely through lack of knowledge of women.

There needs to be a female showrunner. There have been female writers on the show and it doesn't necessarily mean it will help matters.

Okay, I've got to stop panicking before the new series even begins.

That's hope her wardrobe choices stay that way.

Yep. We have high hopes/expectations for the show, but only because we love watching it.:)

You would think that would motivate them. Well, maybe it shall.

I liked how Eleven mixed it up a bit. Matt Smith must of had some say on that.

I don't know why some people dislike Ten in blue?

Also, he needed two colours so that we could tell the difference between the Tenth Doctor and the Metacrisis Doctor. A few times he wore a black tux.

It depended on the Doctors mood too, like with Nine and Twelve.

DT wanted a change in his second run where it was distinctive but at the same time didn't look too much like a uniform. If anyone has a problem with the blue suit than they have to blame DT himself.:)

I think he wore the blue suit if the Doctor went into the future, or another planet. When the Doctor went into the past, it was the brown suit.

I read it in an episode review once. I didn't notice it either!:D

Me neither. DT said in an interview that the first thing he asked for when he got the role of the Doctor is: Can I have a really long coat?:)

I wonder if Nine would have changed his clothes if he have had a second series? We will never know.:(

It did suit him physically as well as mentally. I bet Rose was a little disappointed that the leather went.

I heard John Barrowman and David Tennant talking about how cool swishy long coats are but there is still a risk of when it gets wrapped around your legs like a nappy if you are going too fast.:D

Yup, I'm a firm believer that the TARDIS knew and sent the Doctor a Ginger. He did look like he really enjoyed his time with her. Both of them positively glowed from being in each other's company.

She sent him exactly who he needed at the time... a friend first!
