Title: Math Problem
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Bikky, Lai.
Rating: PG
Setting: During the manga.
Summary: Lai is helping Bikky study for an important test.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Prodigy’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: This one’s a drabble and a half, 150 words.
Groaning in despair, Bikky slumped over the table, bored, headachey, and as confused as he’d been to start with. This was hopeless! It was alright for Lai, he was some sort of child prodigy, a math genius or something, but Bikky was just an ordinary, not too bright street kid. Anything beyond simple addition, subtraction, and multiplication made no sense to him at all.
“You’re wasting your time. I just don’t get it and I never will! I’m not smart like you.”
“Don’t talk crap,” Lai snapped. “You’re plenty smart, you can do this if you try.”
“I am trying!”
“Try harder. Look, I’ll start from the beginning again, and you’d better pay attention this time, unless you want to flunk the test.”
That wasn’t an option. If Bikky’s grades dropped he’d be off the basketball team. Sitting up straight, he tried once again to get his head around geometry.
