Summary: Why is Tosh all dressed up? Ianto wants to know!

“You’re looking very festive,” Ianto said, smiling at Tosh as she emerged from the locker room, all done up for a night out.


“Thanks. I have a date.” Tosh was practically glowing with happiness.


“So who’ll be having the pleasure of your company?”


“Nobody you know.” Her smile was almost coy.


“Come on, Tosh! If you can’t tell me, then who can you tell?”


“Well, okay. Her name’s Lily; we met last week. I took your advice to make the first move and…” She shrugged.


“I’m happy for you, Tosh. Have a lovely evening.”


“Thanks, Ianto. I think we will.”

I named my second cat Lilly. I wanted to work in a florist at one stage. I just have a book on flowers.:)

I've always been a keen gardener, although these days the garden is in a mess because I haven't had the time or energy to do a lot the last ten years or so. I started making some progress sorting it out last year though.

My backyard can get overgrown quickly. I'm lazy to cut the grass. Watering the plants is easier. I can't overdo it in one go or my body aches afterwards.

I know that feeling. I have to pace myself because any activity leaves me with a lot of joint and muscle pain.

A friend of mine cuts the lawn for me. I'm working on cutting back overgrown bushes and clearing out weeds, or I will be once the weather stats improving.

My brother automatically does that stuff for me. So far I can only hammer in furniture.:D

I guess I'd have to learn if I was living on my own.

Flat pack furniture isn't difficult, as long as you follow the instructions, but bigger pieces do require two people so one can hold the pieces in place while the other fastens them together.

Living alone has good and bad points.

As long as you don't have to wait for the tradesman to fix your plumbing but that's probably a little bit off topic.

Oh, I have to do that too. A plumber I am NOT! Thankfully I had an excellent one when I really needed one.

I had to wait almost two years last time. Too many inspections and no follow ups I'm afraid. I wish I could just move since a lot needs to be fixed.

I know, my mum thinks they will just make us move again. Last time they made us move because they wanted to sell the property to someone private.

My mum asked if she could buy it but they said they didn't have that policy. Afterwards we found out that one of our old neighbours was allowed to buy their rented house.

My mum confronted the department of housing about this and they said the policy was changed. Overall, we always seem to get the run-around.:(

Some of my neighbours are racist so we get people throwing rubbish near our front yard. Something has to change for the better. I just try and ignore it for the time being.

I really hate that some people are still so ignorant! I'm sorry you have to put up with that kind of thing, it's so unfair =(

Been dealing with it since I was a teenager. Some people move in, then move out of my neighbourhood because of this kind of hostility.

There are worse things happening in the world but still.

Especially at the moment, sad to say.

There's too much hostility, discrimination, racism, and all the other isms in the world, People need to start accepting we're all the same regardless of race, religion, gender, sexuality, nationality, skin colour, size, shape, or anything else and if we all just stopped squabbling about differences the world would be a nicer, fairer place.

If only people could learn from history. Racist people can't except that their ancestors were in part to blame for the way the world is today.

The English language borrowed words from other languages. Racist people just have to open up their ignorant minds.*is upset*

Yeah. It's pretty crappy. Humans or society in general could do so much better. I'm sure there are still people who share our views too, who want to make a difference.*hugs back*

There are, a lot, but there are still too many who don't, who have closed minds, and a lot of it is learned behaviour, the way they were bought up by their parents. I'm hoping that things will keep changing for the better, but it's an uphill battle.

I agree.

People usually fear what they don't understand. A better understanding of the history in everyone's culture would help in the education system.

Immigrants just want to live a better life. I was born in Australia but that doesn't matter to racist people even though they aren't natives either. It does my head in.*shakes head*

I agree, if people were taught about other cultures (and religions) from childhood, they'd grow up with a better understanding and a greater respect for people of different ethnicities.
