I agree. I know I write primarily for myself, but sometimes I wonder why I bother posting. Of course, most of what I write is for some challenge or another, so I sort of have to post them, I'd just like some of these people who favourite my stories or leave kudos to just say what they like about the story. How are writers supposed to improve their craft if they get no feedback?
