Drabble: Rough Road

Title: Rough Road

Summary: Some of the roads around Cardiff are in a poor state of repair.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Ianto’s teeth clicked together again as the SUV jounced through another series of potholes. Despite its top of the range suspension, Torchwood’s official vehicle was still giving the team a rough ride.

“Everyone okay back there?” he asked, trying to steer around the worst of the holes until they hit a slightly smoother stretch of the road.

“My tailbone is feeling every bump,” Tosh replied from her position in the middle of the back seat. “If we have to come out this way again, I’m bringing a cushion!”

“When we get back home, I’m complaining to the council,” Owen griped.

I really sympathise with the team. I use a mobility scooter and the state of the pavements around here, is dreadful. Maybe Ianto could find some alien tech in the archives to smooth out the potholes

He could sneak out at night and repair the roads ;)

Mum had a mobility scooter and I think I used it more than she did, driving it scared her although she rode a motor scooter until she was nearly 70.

Our pavements are really atrocious too, it's a very rough ride and in places they're so narrow because of trees and hedges that you have to go out in the road.
