Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
As Donna and the Doctor stand in the middle of a bleak and empty plain, on some remote planet no one on earth has ever heard of, the tops of the distant mountains, way off on the horizon, suddenly seem to catch fire.
The planet’s sun is slowly rising, its light catching the crystals that millennia of weathering by wind and rain have exposed on the mountain peaks. They sparkle in every conceivable colour, their radiance so dazzling that Donna’s grateful for the protective goggles she’s wearing.
“Pretty isn’t it?” the Doctor says, grinning at her.
“Pretty? It’s bloody incredible!”
The End

If I had just read the summary, I would have thought the Doctor was going to show Donna her reflection.:)

Date: 2016-08-07 10:20 am (UTC)I guess it would look a bit similar. but very much planet bound rather than in the atmosphere. More like those rainbow refractions that you get when light shines through a prism ans visible light gets split into different wavelengths, producing the different colours.
Thank you.

Date: 2016-08-07 11:41 am (UTC)Apparently there is a "secret" society group that looks at aurora's.

Date: 2016-08-07 10:22 pm (UTC)I saw one woman's face so I don't think it really matters hence the inverted commas I used on the word secret.*shrugs shoulders*
It is more like a group or club. It is just a name.*rambling*

Date: 2016-08-10 11:44 am (UTC)I like to bring a book with me when I'm in a waiting room for whatever reason. I know I can download files onto my phone but sometimes I like to do things old school.

Date: 2016-08-12 10:36 am (UTC)That is disappointing. You hope friends can look after your stuff properly.
My mum gave a friend clothes to borrow when they went overseas and they didn't bother to bring it back!
I guess they left it in storage.:(

Date: 2016-08-12 11:37 am (UTC)I was grateful for the help though, shifting up to 50 boxes of stuff into storage every weekend for a couple of months. I couldn't have done it myself, my car is very small and I'm not strong enough to shift heavy things, plus we needed to get things out of the way in a hurry. Getting things back is a bit easier, though now the House is full of boxes I've got to sort through, deciding what to keep and what to get rid of, then finding places to put what I'm keeping. It's never-ending!

Date: 2016-08-12 12:00 pm (UTC)Oh well in that case, I guess it wasn't all bad. I have to de-clutter my house. I get tired trying to maintain the regular house chores and doing my studies for TAFE. My family obligations...

Date: 2016-08-12 08:15 pm (UTC)De-cluttering is a bit of a nightmare. Mum was a hoarder, and so am I, although hopefully to a lesser extent. I've got a lot of stuff - books, CDs, DVDs, craft supplies... The box room is going to be my craft room with a work bench and lots of storage (I hope). I put together three small cube shaped cabinets this evening, they look good. one has a door, one has a shelf and a drawer, the third SHOULD have a shelf, but the wooden dowels to fit it were missing and I didn't have any spares so I left the shelf out. I'll probably put some of my craft books in that.

Date: 2016-08-13 02:25 am (UTC)TAFE stands for Technical and Further Education. It's a government-run system that provides education after high school in vocational areas.
Basically it is an Adult learning campus.
My father had extreme issues with hoardering. My brother had to rent a dumpster twice!
It was overwhelming. Now it is about just getting rid of stuff that is useless. We have to wait every month for the council to come pick it up.

Date: 2016-08-13 11:51 am (UTC)Getting rid of the unwanted stuff does cause problems. I have two broken TVs in the shed, the old-style bulky ones, that I need to get the council to take away, but I'd have to put them in my drive and pay for them to be taken, and they're too heavy for me to move.
I put a load of stuff out in the drive with a sin saying Free - Help Yourself. That got rid of precisely one item *sigh* I'll have to lug all the rest to charity shops.

Date: 2016-08-14 01:26 am (UTC)It is always the big electronic devices that take time to get rid of.
Unfortunately there are a lot of shopping trolleys used in my neighbourhood. People take them from the shops which mean the council has to pick them up and charge the shop owners who up the prices on their products which means consumers have to deal with the consequences.*phew that was a mouthful*

Date: 2016-08-14 10:56 am (UTC)Kudos for continuing your education! I don't have the patience. When I first worked at the university library, I had day release to take the City & Guilds Librarianship course, which was interesting, and at the time because I hadn't long left school, getting back into the rhythm of study and homework was easier than it would be now.

Date: 2016-08-14 12:51 pm (UTC)That policy on trolleys is only occurring at some businesses around Australia.
Maybe people need a sign as a wake up call for their actions. But then some people ignore those cigarette packets on the risks to your health...
Thanks. I wished I had focus more in high school. Theres always something new to learn no matter what age you are.

Date: 2016-08-14 04:52 pm (UTC)Maybe the trolley policy will catch on eventually. It does seem to be working here. I can't remember the last time I saw a stray trolley.

Date: 2016-08-16 07:30 pm (UTC)I always use one at the supermarket, and thy behave reasonably well indoors. Once they leave the shop though, they have a mind of their own and getting my shopping to my car is a battle. Makes me wonder why anyone would take a trolley away in the first place when making them go in a straight line is almost impossible!
