Fic Of The Week - Week Forty

Another week, another post... So much to do today I hope I can get it all done! This is my first priority though, all the cross-posting will have to wait.

Two fics this week, both shortish. The first is TIC by f_and_a_fics , from October 2008. There are 11 parts over 8 posts and it includes spoilers for Cyberwoman - though I imagine most of us have seen the episode several times, so that won't be a problem.

Summary: Have you ever walked down a street and seen something out of the corner of your eye? Ever got a feeling someone’s watching you? Well for Ianto Jones it wasn’t just a feeling. They had watched his every move since the cyber woman incident, they knew what had happen to Dr Tanizaki. So it wasn’t long before they tracked Ianto Jones down.

Second fic this week is Here's To The Meantime by addictdtowords . Another one from 2008, August this time. There are 5 parts over 6 consecutive posts. Spoilers for this one are through Exit Wounds and the Doctor Who episode Journey's End.

Summary: Jack leaves Torchwood for The Doctor...again. And Captain John has so graciously decided to lend his help while Jack is away.

Captain John at Torchwood... Well, that's bound to be interesting! Parts are not linked - unless you're working backwards, so...

I look forward to your recs every week--you find the most interesting things. Took a peek at the first one and it's an compelling premise, not something I've seen before. The parts are short and it's an easy read, but I've got to dash after reading Part 5. Stupid RL.

This comment cracked me up, though. "Naaaaa jack have to save Ianto !!!!! Please !!!!!!"

That sums up so many fics in just a few words! LOL.

Lol! I hope to start the first one this evening, just got one other short fic from today (well, last night but it was too late then to read it) that I want to read first.

Glad you're enjoying the recs, I keep managing to find things so hopefully I can last the full year!

I hate days like that - mine started off that way with the pharmacist's assistant informing me that I couldn't order a repeat of my meds over the phone as they weren't on my list and I'd have to talk to my Doctor - I've been ordering the same bloody things every month for years! They screwed up and I'm the one who has to sort it out. =(

Sorry, shouldn't rant, especially when you're having such a bad day.

I've read parts 1-6 might read one more tonight, I think I have time. Then again, I might leave it 'til tomorrow and read something fluffy instead, lol!

My day is over and I'm home and away from the annoying people.

Fluff if good. That first story not so fluffy. Mr. Fuzzies is fluffy.*points to icon* I've learned to not write the Mr. Fuzzies revenge on the train. I get odd looks for laughing as I write.

Yes, I imagine cackling to oneself while writing psychotic teddy bear fic would get you some strange looks from fellow passengers!

Glad you get to escape the annoying people - I hope your evening is more enjoyable than your day! It's midnight here so I'm about to head off to bed. I need rest so I will have the energy to battle an uncooperative rabbit in the morning!

Sometimes fluff is not so good. My rabbit is fluffy, I spend ages each day brushing the loose fluff out! There is white fluff everywhere...

Though in these parts cackling is not that strange. I've seen plenty of odd get ups, performers and once there was a guy wearing a diaper. People preaching about the end of the world. So cackling is pretty tame.

Yup, it's only me at home so if I annoy myself then I've got loads other issues.

Okay maybe literal fluff not so good. *waits patiently for new Tw100 prompt*

I haven't looked to see if the prompt is up yet - had to rush Misty to the vet. He's okay, just managed to tear a claw half off and there seemed quite a bit of blood. Claw is right off now, bleeding has stopped and he's on painkillers twice a day anyway so it shouldn't hurt him while it heals up. Not the morning I'd hoped for!

*hugs* Poor you and Misty. That sounds really painful. Good thing for the pain killers. Glad dot hear he is okay. How did he manage to do that?

Yeah the prompt is up. It's a eh prompt this week, but I already managed a piece I just put up. Yeah i should not write fics before my brain is fully awake.

No idea! He scrabbled with his feet as I picked him up this morning but there's nothing a claw could have caught on and it was the thumb claw - the one furthest back on the paw on the front foot, so how he managed I don't know. I took him in, put him on mum's lap and got him wrapped in the towel, then realised I had blood all over my hand! Worrying, to say the least. I gave him his meds quickly then checked him over to find the problem, then called the vet for an appointment.
