Ooooh, I'm exhausted! I went to collect my new glasses this morning - they have purple frames, very pretty! Then I had to pick up bread for mum, go to the other end of our main shopping street to get food for my rabbit, then all the way back to my favourite bakers for some sweet treats - the make delicious blackcurrant pies, mouthwatering gingerbread biscuits and the best macaroons in town. (In case you don't get those in America, they're flat, chewy coconut biscuit things with a slice of almond on the top).
Then I drove home to rest for a little while before a local school's summer carnival. Summer. Huh. I usually cycle there, it's not far and there's really nowhere to park, but I can't cycle while holding an umbrella. That's right, it was raining again. So I walked, with Collin who walks very fast and is hard to keep up with at the best of times, but I was hampered by wrestling with my umbrella in strong winds. At least we didn't have to queue when we got there!
There were a handful of stalls. some rides for the kids, and lots of ferrets from a ferret rescue place. Kids could pay to hold one or to take one for a walk on a leash. They're very cute. We battled round the stalls in the wind and rain, I bought 3 DVDs, a nice box to store some of my cross stitch threads in, and a cross stitch kit! Oh, and a nice zip up knitting bag full of knitting needles - that was a real bargain! There was a stall selling some Doctor Who action figures - sadly no Ood, I've been trying to get myself an Ood for a long time. (Don't ask me to explain what an Ood is, it's a Doctor Who alien and I can't describe it, lol!) Anyway, I found two Captain Jacks, so I bought them. They can entertain each other until I manage to get a Ianto!
Then, of course, we had to walk all the way back... My feet feel like they'll fall off any minute and I'm so tired! Still, I had fun, despite the bad weather.
