We confuse ourselves and we grew up with the language! I honestly don't understand how anyone else manages to make sense of it. there are so many cases of two words being spelled differently but pronounced exactly the same and sometimes it's hard to tell which one someone means when they're spoken aloud. It's the same with deer/dear, dew/due and dye/die, never mind to/too/two. English doesn't make sense, which probably accounts for our weird sense of humour.
