Summary: Rhys is sure something’s not right.

A/N: My ninth drabble for this prompt.

Rhys was puzzled. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d forgotten something important, but for the life of him he couldn’t think what it might be.

The previous evening was a blur. Gwen said she’d come home late and found him passed out on the sofa; he must have had a few too many. That was odd to start with. He didn’t remember going out with the boys, and he only ever drank that heavily on nights out. There hadn’t been much booze in the flat anyway, and most of it was still there.

Why would Gwen lie to him?

Oh man, poor Rhys! I always found it so mean of Gwen that she wasn't really honest with him... He doesn't deserve that.

Well, she's hardly an expert at administering it. I bet she didn't implant a cover story, so Rhys just gnawed away at the gap in his memory until he broke through. I figure it took a few days, maybe a week or two, but he got there, because he's a lot smarter than she gives him credit for.

She was supposed to love him, yet she treated him as if he was stupid. He was a lot smarter than she believed, I'm sure he would have been suspicious the following morning. It's not like Gwen ever bothered to learn how to use retcon.

Well, Gwen never learned how to use retcon correctly and I don't remember her implanting false memories to cover up the gap she was leaving. Rhys isn't stupid. He can tell he's forgotten something and that the previous night's events don't add up.
