Summary: As a patriotic Welshman, spring is Ianto’s favourite season.

A/N: My fourth drabble for this prompt.

Spring had finally arrived in Cardiff.

It was Ianto’s favourite time of year; the air was almost balmy, the sun sometimes peeped through the clouds and people started to shed their dull and heavy winter clothes in favour of something colourful. They even smiled at each other and called out cheerful greetings. It was a vast improvement over dreary winter.

Then there were the flowers. Shy snowdrops gave way to the white, purple and gold of crocuses then almost overnight the daffodils appeared, carpets of sunshine yellow dancing in the breeze.

It was a sight that always gladdened his heart.

Me too! There are flowers everywhere, and everything starts to get green after the drab browns and greys of winter. It's like the world is coming back to life =)

I hope it arrives for you properly soon. We're getting a few springlike days, then colder weather again. We're not quite there yet. When it's nice, it's very nice, but the rest of the time it's still too cold.

Beautiful imagery! I'm glad Ianto is having a lovely spring. Our spring has been somewhat anemic so far, but the flowers, including the daffodils, are trying, bless their little hearts.

Spring here is proving to be rather hit and miss. Some dayu are lovely, some are freezing and our daffodils didn't flower, but other things were lovely, including some self-set wallflowers. Even so, I love Spring best =)

I feel the same about tulips. Ours are finally starting to poke up out of the ground. I'm hoping they'll be as bountiful as they were last year - we had a record number of blooms in our patch (almost 50!)

Tulips are lovely, they're not quite as common over here as daffodils though there are a lot to be seen in gardens and especially in areas that the council plants up. I just love flowers in general, lol!

I hate open challenges - I have no imagination so hate being given free reign. I have managed to write one, but only because it was a scene that I wanted to put into the longer fic I was writing at the time for my cotton_candy bingo piece but I couldn't see how to fit it in. So I wrote it as a drabble then looked for a prompt it might fit.

You can always ask someone else to pick a prompt for you. If you want to write another, how about doing the Beatles song title We Can Work It Out? (I've done two Beatles titles drabbles, I don't want to do another, but it's such a great title).

I far prefer it if people let me know when I've buggered something up. No matter how many times I check things, mistakes sometimes slip through - like missing the 'r' out of Thursday or typing 's' instead of 'a' (my eyesight is such that it can be hard for me to tell I've done that, they often look similar.) I'm always grateful, if annoyed with myself. I've fixed it now on all five sites, so there are crocuses insteasd of the later-blooming psychedelic snowdrops which follow the regular kind in Cardiff, due to the Rift ;)

Gobs of Cherry Blossoms (which I love to see!), daffodils, and so many others but the weather is still screwy. One day it's getting close to the 70s, the next its dropped back down to the 40s/50s. It's hard to tell just what's going to happen. Maybe next month? How's your Mom? And how are YOU feeling?

Mum's doing well, aside from being 83. Not much can be done about that though, lol.

I'm not having such a good time. Having some problems with my meds so it's back to the doctor on friday morning. Means I'll have to get up an hour earlier. My life sucks sometimes, but it beats the alternative. Got lots to keep me busy, I'm overworked aty hime *sigh*

Still, i have good music to keep me goping and lots of writing to do, so there's that!

My Mom's 81, with a pacemaker and doing her damndest to make me crazy which is why I've been avoiding going around her for the last few years. She's in another state where I loathed living, along with my half-siblings and their kids.

You're writing a lot of good stuff :D and that gives me a few ideas for beadwork. I'm mulling over a pair of TARDIS earrings in delica beads :D It's just getting the proper framework for holding the beads...

I wish I didn't have to be around my mum, the stress is making my health worse, I'm sure. I can't really relax in my own home. I'm stuck here though =(

I will; you're the first one I thought of and I'm searching for good, clear pictures of the TARDIS to get a draft to work with. I know about that stress with Mom; that's why my mother lives in Missouri and I live in NY. I stay away from her because of her toxic personality. Right now, the stress I've got is from my son and his 2 ex-girlfriends who are now searching for me; I have his power of attorney and these two vermin think I'll just roll over and give them money they're not entitled to (his military disability pension, which is frozen in escrow by the feds). I'm searching for some paperwork; when I find it, I'm going to the D.A. and a congressperson to stop them both and hopefully force an investigation into his case. My fist is getting itchy! There's also a potential health issue: a flat, black mole on my left hip that itches. Stress is a nasty companion but I try to work it out in my crafts. Yours comes thru with some first-rate drabbles! (didn't you do a long piece recently?)

Truly 'interesting times', as Confucius would say! :D

I posted one of my longer pieces a couple of weeks ago, and a short FAKE fic yesterday.

Better get that mole checked out - the quicker it's dealt with the better. Good luck with all the other unpleasantnesses too, I hope you can stop them in their tracks.
