A/N: This one’s for awieatti, who tossed my own prompt – Ryo, Ice Cream – back at me!

A/N2: To my surprise, my first FAKE drabble is 100 words exactly, no editing required. That’s just freaky!

Midsummer in New York, and it was hot enough to fry eggs on the hood of the car. Dee was roasting even without his jacket and Ryo didn’t seem to be faring much better. He was staring at nothing, eyes unfocussed, and obviously hadn’t heard a word Dee had said.

“Earth to Ryo,” Dee nudged his partner.

“Hmmm?” Ryo blinked.

“I asked if you wanted an ice cream.”

“We’re working.”

“We’re cooking, we need to cool off or we’ll spontaneously combust!”

“Well, okay.”

Unfortunately for Dee, the sight of Ryo licking an ice cream just made him feel even hotter.

Imagine my surprise of seeing something new at 27th_precinct but also a familiar name but one I never saw FAKE fic from!

This is AWESOME! And you have a master list for FAKE going now too? I can't stop smiling. :D

And yeah, don't blame Dee there. I would be hotter too watching Ryo lick his ice cream. Good thing it's not too hot here 'cause I think I would spontaneously burst at the thought of both Ryo and Dee with ice cream.

Yeah, FAKE drabble, the first of hopefully quite a few. I'm taking baby steps at the moment, trying to get a 'feel' for the characters' voices because I have an AU FAKE plot bunny nibbling at my brain, which may or may not come to fruition as it's rather an ambitious one. So, awieatti started writing FAKE drabbles and that nudged my brain into gear...

I only wrote this one yesterday, I need to come up with some prompts/ideas to use but I quite liked the way this one turned out. Dee and Ryo are similar to Jack/Ianto in some ways but at the same time completely different o_O

You might want to take a look at the prompts at fake_100. There's not a lot and the comm has been quiet, but we have a few prompts that gracie_musica came up with.

I'll also see if I can think up a few for you. :)

I know it's only a drabble but you did capture Dee and Ryo perfectly. Great job! *claps*

And here I am finishing up the first chapter to TUIV which I'm finally working on.

Oh, and I just took a look at awieatti's LJ. Looks like I found some more reading to do. And here I just bought a new steampunk book I planned to read during down time. LOL!

I'm just copying the format I set up for my Torchwood drabbles - I have to have summaries because of the drabble communities rules so I just always have had them. Sometimes coming up with a summary for a drabble is difficult without giving the whole plot away though.

Well, I've done one, now I think I'll look at some of the prompts I've used for Torchwood and see if I can adapt them for FAKE.

That's true, summaries for drabbles are a pain in the... Well, let's say I'm struggling with mine right now. Maybe I'll just leave them out after all :'D

I like that idea, it would be interesting to see the differences and similarities between the FAKE and Torchwood drabbles.

I always wanted to read / write a FAKE-fic including a cat, but never came up with something good - so here you go! xD

I'll definitely have to take a look over on fake_100 Wish the community could be resurrected, I'm sure awieatti would like having FAKE prompts to work with. All prompts are welcome though. I might try using some of the tw100 prompts for FAKE too, try to do one FAKE drabble for each tw100 prompt alongside my Torchwood drabbles. I miss gracie_musica , I loved her fics, both Torchwood and FAKE. I don't think Southern Charm ever got finished =(

Oh yeah, I think I can do something with that! Dee and a kitty, lol! I have an idea.

I might try to do a Caffeine drabble for FAKE too. I've done 7 for Torchwood, lol!

If you're not writing for a community that demands summaries, then it's safe to leave them out. I posted my drabble to 27th_precinct , just in case there are still any other FAKE fans lurking. That community needs reviving, lol!

Caffeine will work since there seems to be a lot of coffee drinking in FAKE, especially in FAKE Second and Backstage Pass.

I got one written, though it's more coffee than caffeine, lol.

Then I wrote another Torchwood Caffeine one which makes 8 so I'll have to post another one today and two tomorrow just to make sure they're all posted before the next prompt goes up. I had one left last week for the library prompt when the new challenge went up a day early, so I still haven't posted that one yet. And now I'm trying to juggle two fandoms! o_O

At least my FAKE drabble collection will have more than one drabble in it, once I get around to posting another one... The Torchwood ones have to come first though because there's a deadline.

Dee obviously didn't think things through. If he had, he would have realised Ryo + Ice Cream would be too much to handle when he can't even pounce because it's too hot and they're supposed to be working! Poor hot and frustrated Dee. Ryo, on the other hand, felt much better for the ice cream, lol!

Thank you! FAKE has been nibbling at my brain for a while now, so I thought I'd start small with a few drabbles, try to get a feel for their voices and stuff. It's so different from writing Torchwood. I have a couple more written, but I'm open to prompts and ideas.

They're my second favourite OTP, I love these two. Dee is a lot like Jack - flirty, confident, full of himself, bisexual (no aliens so he can't be omni, lol) and head over heels for his partner, the completely oblivious Randy Ryo Maclean, who spends most of the manga trying to fend off Dee's advances while pretending to himself that he's not actually gay. He does give in eventually though, thank goodness.
