badly_knitted
Characters: Ianto, Jack.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 669: Plant at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Jack has got a bit carried away with his purchases.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto put his hands on his hips and stared in disbelief as Jack unloaded the SUV, not just the boot but the backseat, the floor, and the front passenger seat as well.
“When you said you were going to pick up a few bedding plants for the roof garden, I didn’t expect you to buy everything in the garden centre!”
Jack looked sheepish. “I know I went a bit over the top, and I’m sorry, but there was just so much to choose from and every time I picked something out, I saw something else that was even better, and then it seemed a shame to put back what I’d already chosen. I didn’t want to make the plants feel unwanted,” he explained.
“I don’t think plants have emotions, Jack.”
“But you don’t know for sure; they might have! Besides, they’re so bright and cheerful! We’ve had such a cold and dismal spring we really need some bright colour in the garden to make up for everything the late snow killed off.”
“They are very pretty,” Ianto agreed, because it was true. “I just don’t know where we’re going to put them all.”
“Perhaps I should’ve bought some more tubs.”
