A/N: Double drabble.
“So what d’you think it is?” Owen asked as Tosh examined the peculiar contraption the medic had just brought back to the Hub. “A medical device of some kind?” He was always hoping for something new to play with, even though he already had several very advanced diagnostic scanners and a device that could repair broken bones and damaged nerves, even regenerate missing fingers and toes.
“It’s far too soon to tell, Owen; I’ve barely looked at it yet.”
“But you could hazard a guess, couldn’t you? I mean it looks sort of surgical, don’t you think?”
“I don’t know. It could just as easily be an alien paint stripper, a camping stove, or a device for controlling the weather. It could even be a weapon of some kind.”
“It doesn’t look like any of those things!”
“That doesn’t necessarily mean anything,” Ianto pointed out as he handed out coffee. “It’s alien, made by and for creatures who probably bear very little resemblance to us. Even if it is a medical device, there’s no guarantee it would be of any use for treating humans.”
“Ianto’s right, which is why I don’t guess. When I figure it out I’ll tell you.”
