Summary: As much as Ianto is looking forward to his and Jack’s new role as earth ambassadors, it does mean leaving home.

A/N: Double drabble.




Leaving earth was going to be hard, Ianto knew; not just for himself but for Jack, and even for Nosy. They wouldn’t be gone forever, their trips would probably be only a few weeks or months to start with as they visited the nearest inhabited worlds, setting up diplomatic ties and trade agreements with some of the more civilised and peaceful aliens out there, but it would still mean being away from home and everything that was familiar.


He and Jack would miss their kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and all their friends, and no matter when they left they were going to miss at least a couple of birthdays or other significant occasions; that was the downside, if it could be called that, of having such a large extended family. By now, birthdays were an almost weekly event, and the youngest of the grand and great grandkids would be disappointed if their Grandfathers and GrandFluff were absent on their special days.


Nosy would no doubt miss its human family members too, as well as its many Flufflets, some of which were by now almost fully grown.


Yes, leaving would be hard, but they’d always come back. Earth was their home.
