A/N: Double drabble.
“Why do you continue to fight, puny humans?” the leader of the alien invasion force sneered. “You are merely delaying the inevitable. Your leader is dead and your defeat is imminent. Victory, and your world, shall soon be mine! There is nothing you can do to stop us; your only option is to surrender and then I might possibly be persuaded to spare your sorry lives. You would perhaps provide some small entertainment for my troops. Throw down your weapons and…”
Before he could finish what he was saying, his head exploded and his body slumped to the ground to reveal Jack standing behind him, holding one of the alien weapons.
“You took your time!” Ianto grumbled. “And did you have to make such a mess? I’ve got alien bits on my suit!”
“Hey! Is that the thanks I get for saving the world?”
“I’m just saying. You didn’t have to blow his head off; that’s overkill. Taking him prisoner would’ve been preferable. We could’ve handed him over to the Shadow Proclamation.”
“Yes, well, turns out these things have a hair trigger.” Jack brandished the gun.
“Oi!” yelped Owen, ducking. “Watch where you point that thing! We’re not all immortals!”
