A/N: Double drabble.
Gwen shuddered and turned to Jack, aghast. “You’re not seriously thinking we should go in there, are you?”
“Why not? According to our instruments, the location of the Rift spike is somewhere inside that building.”
“But…” Gwen looked up at the building in question, a ramshackle old house set back from the road with broken, boarded up windows that resembled blank, unseeing eyes in the intermittent moonlight. She was uncomfortably aware that it was close to the witching hour.
“But?” Jack queried.
“Well, look at it! House like that, looking like something out of a horror movie; bound to be haunted, isn’t it?”
“Wouldn’t surprise me,” Ianto said from Gwen’s other side. “And it’s not going to get any less haunted if we just stand around waiting to be invited in.” He started up the overgrown path, pushing through the branches blocking his way. Jack followed, falling into step beside him.
Gwen hurried to catch up, not wanting to be left alone in such an eerie place. “You’re not bothered there might be ghosts?”
Ianto raised an eyebrow. “Why would I be? The archives are full of ghosts, but I work down there every day. I’ve grown used to them.”
