A/N: Double drabble.
Returning from the loo, Ianto stopped dead in his tracks, staring in abject horror. “Oh my God!”
“What’s up?” Jack asked from where he lay drowsing on the picnic blanket in the shade of a spreading oak.
“You were supposed to be watching the twins!”
“They’re fine,” Jack replied, turning his gaze toward the children’s play area. His eyes took in the swings and the slide, roundabout and see-saw, monkey bars and sand pit, and the dozen or so young children playing happily under the watchful eyes of parents and grandparents. There was no sign of the twins. “But… they were right there a minute ago, I swear they were!”
Ianto believed him, at four years old the twins were already accomplished escapologists. Besides, this was no time for recriminations; he turned slowly, eyes already searching the area for the Holy Terrors, as they’d become known. He didn’t believe for a second that they’d been kidnapped; no one could have taken them without them screaming their heads off.
“Gareth! Jenna!” he bellowed.
“Up here, Taddy!”
There they were, twenty feet up the oak tree.
Ianto blanched. “Get down here this instant!”
“Looks like they get their climbing skills from you.”
