Double Drabble: Mission Accomplished
Title: Mission Accomplished
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Ianto, Team.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 589: Graze at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: It’s been just another routine day for Torchwood.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto leaned on the gate contentedly watching the sheep graze. They looked like they didn’t have a care in the world. Which they didn’t. Not any more.
A few hours ago it had been a different story, panicked sheep scattering across the valley, bleating fearfully. It was a miracle none of them had been killed. Then again, he could hardly blame them for stampeding; it wasn’t every day a flying saucer crash-landed in their field.
It hadn’t been intentional; the craft’s occupants, under Torchwood’s instructions, had meant to touch down further along the valley in an empty field. Unfortunately, the misfiring engines had abruptly cut out completely. The ship’s momentum hadn’t been enough to carry it to the proposed landing site; it had dropped like a stone. Ianto was just thankful no sheep had been flattened in the process; that would have been difficult to explain to whoever owned them.
The team had spent all afternoon helping the saucer’s occupants repair the faulty engines before seeing them off again. Now, aside from some churned up turf towards one end of the field, which they’d sort of flattened, no one would know anything had happened there.
Another successful Torchwood mission completed.
The End

They're definitely easier to deal with than people!
Thank you!
