Title: Tall Story
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Jack, Tosh, Gwen, Ianto, Team.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 586: Bird at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Jack is telling tales about his travels with the Doctor.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Strolling across the Plas with his team, another successful world-saving mission completed, Jack was telling outlandish stories again.
“I swear it’s true,” he said. “The Doctor had his sonic screwdriver out in an instant, waving it around, trying to persuade the vines to release me. Not that I was complaining about what they were doing; to be honest I was kinda enjoying the attention, but the Doctor gets a bit put out by that kind of behaviour, if you know what I mean. Anyway, there he was, trying one setting after another, and none of them were working, at least not the way he wanted, when all of a sudden this gigantic bird appeared behind him, snatched the sonic right outta his hand, and took off at a run.”
Tosh giggled. “What did he do?”
“The only thing he could; he ran after the bird, with Rose hard on his heels, yelling at it to come back.”
“But what about you?” Gwen asked, wide-eyed.
“I’m sure Jack was fine,” Ianto smirked.
“Perfectly fine, thank you!” Jack beamed. “That little interruption gave me and my new friend time to get better acquainted.” He winked at Gwen. “That was quite a day!”
