Title: Rained Off
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Jack, Ianto, Nosy.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 584: Coat at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: An unexpected change in the weather spoils Jack’s plans.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Jack stared gloomily through the car windows. “Well this sucks.”
When they’d set out, the day had been bright and sunny, a few clouds drifting across the sky but nothing they needed to worry about. An hour later, and just as they’d arrived at their destination and found a place to park, the heavens had opened, just a shower at first but quickly getting heavier. From the clouds blanketing the sky as far as he could see, it looked like the bad weather might have set in for the day. So much for their eagerly anticipated walk along the deserted beach.
“I know,” Ianto agreed. “There’s no way we can go out in that. I mean, we might be okay, we could use an umbrella, but Nosy would be drenched in moments.”
Jack nodded. “If it was a dog it would be fine, but I doubt anyone’s invented raincoats for Fluffs.”
Ianto frowned, trying to imagine how that would even work. “A raincoat would only keep Nosy’s top dry anyway, its underneath would still get soggy.”
“I suppose.” Jack sighed disconsolately. “All this way and it looks like we’ll have to go straight back home.”
Nosy wished it was waterproof.
