Summary: Not everyone is as sympathetic towards Torchwood’s latest alien guest as Ianto.

A/N: Double drabble.
“I require water,” the green-skinned alien snapped imperiously. “Fetch me some.”
Ianto bowed courteously, keeping his eyes downcast. “As you command, your eminence.” He backed away before turning on his heel and leaving the room.
“What’s with her superior attitude?” Owen asked Gwen in a stage whisper as Ianto passed. “We save her ass and she treats us like bloody servants! Teaboy’s not helping, suckin’ up to her.”
Ianto grabbed the medic by his arm, dragging him away before he could cause offence. “Her eminence Prima Miraleia is royalty on her world,” he explained in a low voice as Owen stumbled along beside him. “She behaves this way because it’s all she knows. In case you’ve forgotten, she just lost all her retinue in the crash, including the woman who raised and taught her from birth, sort of her nanny and governess combined. She’s scared, grieving, and alone, has no idea what to do, so she’s falling back on what’s familiar.”
“She’s just a little kid!”
“Exactly,” Ianto said softly. “She’s about the same age as my niece. She needs looking after, so that’s what I intend to do.”
“Rather you than me.”
“Agreed. I won’t start an interplanetary war.”
