A/N: This one’s a drabble and a half, 150 words.
“What you need is to get away from it all for a bit,” Ryo said firmly. “I talked it over with the chief and he said I could take a week off to look after you, so I booked us into a hotel up the coast. A bit of fresh air will do you good.”
Dee had just got out of hospital after being stabbed in the stomach.
“Seriously? The old badger just let you take time off for me?”
“You don’t have any family to look after you, Dee. He probably suspects we’re more than just friends, but he wants to maintain plausible deniability. Anyway, he’ll agree to anything that will help you recover.”
“So he has a heart after all, who’d have thought it?”
“Dee, be nice.”
“Sorry. So, I guess I should pack for a short vacation.”
“Already done.”
“Don’t know what I’d do without you, babe.”
