Summary: The Doctor makes a decision to travel on alone.

They’re all gone. Rose, Jack, Martha, the incomparable Donna Noble… Each and every one of them left behind. Lady Christina would have gone with him willingly. They could have been great together, he could have shown her so much, the whole universe and all of time, but how could he do that to someone else?


He broke them all eventually. They joined him full of life and eager for adventure, but in the end, for one reason or another, he lost them all. He couldn’t bear losing another one. It would be better for everyone if he travelled by himself.

It's a shame he didn't take Lady Christina with him. That would have been a grand pairing, she was definitely too big a heart to be limited to just one planet.

Or at the very least he should have introduced her to Jack and Torchwood so she could put those brains and energy to proper use. Sigh.

Yes, Lady Christina could have been an interesting companion, or an asset to Torchwood. just another character introduced and not made the most of.

I think he was too shattered after what he did to Donna to take anyone else on... especially when Christina called him "Spaceman," you could see he just couldn't take it.

(Barring the comic series), he didn't take anyone on until he regenerated.... even then, when Amy said she was his best friend, he cringed a bit and didn't respond to that.

That's true, up to that point he could justify leaving companions behind, but what he had to do to Donna was too much, even though it was to save her life. It broke something inside him.
