Doctor Who Drabble: A Quick Dip

Title: A Quick Dip

Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted

Characters: Ten, Donna.

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 015 – heat / water at [livejournal.com profile] dw100

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: It’s amazing what you can find in the TARDIS.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

There’s a swimming pool aboard the TARDIS. Not some piddling little one either, it’s full size, you could hold the Olympics in there. Donna’s kind of impressed because… Well, indoor swimming pool inside a police telephone box! She doesn’t even try to understand how that works, or how the water doesn’t all slop out when they’re travelling through the vortex.

Slipping off her shoe, she dips her toes in the water; it’s pleasantly warm. She should probably fetch her swimming costume first, but the temptation is too great.

She doesn’t know who’s more embarrassed when the Doctor catches her skinny-dipping!

The End

Nine didn't do domestic but Rose influenced him to be more comfortable. Ten was more people friendly but would still protest against having a life like a human.

I did notice that both Amy and Clara both say to the Doctor that his rubbish as a human. Martha said it when he was actually fob watched.

I heard the commentary for "The Shakespeare Code" where David Tennant mentioned the bed scene. He was told to stripped off his clothes. He said that the Doctor would not be that insensitive towards Martha.

I guess theres a fine line between nakedness or being in close quarters with a female champion in a bedroom. A bedroom is just a room to him.

Eleven got naked in front of both Amy and Clara. He was oblivious to their reactions. Although both responded in different ways.

Similar to how medical doctors are on the clock.

Twelve has two ways of how he manages sleep.

Deep Breath

The Doctor: Oh? Oh, well I wouldn’t bother with that. I never bother with sleeping. I just do standing up cat naps.

The Doctor: Well generally whenever anyone else starts talking. I like to skip ahead to my bits, it saves time.

Sleep No More

The Doctor: Sleep is vital. Sleep is wonderful. Even I sleep.

Clara: When?

The Doctor: Well when you’re not looking.

The only time we have seen the Doctor in sleep wear is when he was recovering from regeneration as Ten. Twelve as well but I think its link to whatever the story line is in that episode. Nine had just met Rose and Eleven had young Amelia to interact with.

Judging by the way he was checking out his ears in the mirror suggest it must have been recent for him. Nine would have been good at standing up cat naps. I remember that his signature pose was leaning against a wall with his arms crossed.
