I like to think Daisy escaped fromm the zoo and was right there when the Rift dropped the defabricator, so got a big dose of whatever the Rift was lugging around at the time, stray bits of DNA it didn't know what to do with. Maybe Daisy was prone to escaping a lot and was on the scene several times when the Rift dropped something off, so the bits of stray DNA built up over time.
