Summary: Suzie has become disillusioned about Torchwood.

A/N: Double drabble.

Back when she was recruited to Torchwood, it had all been so exciting and new. Suzie had been filled with awe and wonder at each new discovery but as time had passed the thrill had worn off.

She’d started to realise they never got anything really good. They got Weevils and Hoix, both species willing to eat whatever they could get their claws on. They got bits of unidentifiable tech, most of it broken beyond hope of repair. They got random objects from earth’s past, none of which were worth anything, and they got junk, the discarded refuse of a thousand worlds. The Rift should be charged with littering.

Where were all the wonderful things she’d expected to discover, the technology that could change the world? Where were the aliens from advanced civilisations who could provide the people of earth with cures to all known diseases, eliminate air pollution, and provide clean sources of energy?

Jack was no help; he kept talking about timelines and how they had to be maintained. He said changing the future would be catastrophic, but he was wrong. They should be using what they found to make the world better, otherwise what was the point?

I know! Both Tosh and Ianto had more empathy. It was more likely a hunger for power that was the deciding factor.

Everyone else was scared of the glove and I don't blame them. Jack tried, but the plot of convincing us all of Gwen's specialness made center stage...

They should have been scared, knowing what the glove did to Suzie.

Gwen was nothing special, she was just susceptible to the glove's powers.

I forgot the glove idea came from a Buffy episode!

Ianto: This glove is different to the other one. Maybe different gloves do different things?
Martha: How many are there?
Ianto: Two. Well, they tend to come in pairs.

The second time round, Jack was desperate to get Owen back, while Gwen was hesitant to use it. So, yeah, whatever Rusty wants to do with said characters...*shrugs*

RTD changes the rules as he goes. I doubt he even remembers what they are from one episode to the next. Plot holes and inconsistencies everywhere. Let's just hope he never gets the chance to do a Torchwood re-boot because it would be all Gwen all the time, with Jack adoring her. Oh, wait, that's what we had first time around.

Jack was momentarily mortal during Miracle Day. The way RTD was shipping Jack/Gwen was like Tenth Doctor/Rose. I just didn't like it.*shrugs*

It was so stupid making Jack mortal, and I never thought Jack and Gwen should be together. Why should practically she have every man on the show?

I was fed up with seeing Jack "dying" again and again. It literally was overkill. He is already from the future. That's he's edge right there, but no! It was all part of what brought him back to life blah, blah, blah.*mini-rant*

It's a given unfortunately. Sure Jack has a soft spot for Gwen, but she really overdid the "make him jealous" side of things. At least we saw that Ianto was the exception to the rule.

Miracle Day made it all about Jack's blood, which is nonsense. The amount of Jack's blood Ianto's had on him he'd be immortal.

Jack kept pushing Gwen back towards Rhys. He could have had her anytime if he'd wanted but he never did.

Yeah. I didn't like it.*a tad dejected on the subject of life and death*

You would think she'd take a hint. I get being rejected sucks, but come on, Gwen had Rhys already!

Gwen had Rhys but wanted everyone else. Rhys was never enough for her. Greedy.

Rhys was her back up plan, not a life plan.:(

He should have been brought into Torchwood all on his own merit. Especially since he was too important to kill off. No need for Gwen.*shrugs*

Yeah, she came into Torchwood going on about how special Rhys was, then cheated on him for no good reason, flirted with Jack, confessed her affair and retconned Rhys so he wouldn't remember. If that's her idea of loving someone...

Her dishonesty was not the behaviour of a decent person, regardless of gender.

Gwen: Will you miss me?
Jack: Always. Rhys is a lucky man, a perfect husband. He's loyal, brave. He's got a hell of a swing on him. And best of all, he really loves you.
Gwen: I know.

Do you, Gwen?*raises hands in defeat*

No, Gwen never really understood how lucky she was to have Rhys.

It was all underwhelming. I've seen better love triangles.

I don't even consider it WAS a love triangle. If Jack had really wanted Gwen he could have had her, but he never made a move.

Okay. More like a straight line, where Gwen didn't get the point that Jack was getting across.

Gwen didn't get anything she didn't want to see.

I wish they had done an episode where Gwen had not uncovered Torchwood.

It wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't broken through the Retcon. Then the police could have fired her for incompetence and dereliction of duty, which would have been more realistic. Andy could have joined Torchwood instead.

Donna got "Turn Left" and we saw how integral she was to the Doctor's life. I'd rather Rhys had forgotten Gwen in the episode "Adam". Andy would have been interesting as part of the Torchwood team. Imagine how he'd get on with the others.

Turn Left was great.

Rhys wasn't under Adam's influence though.

That's why I added Andy to my team.
