FAKE Double Drabble: Wildlife
Title: Wildlife
Fandom: FAKE
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Dee, Ryo.
Rating: G
Setting: After Vol. 7.
Summary: Dee is finding British wildlife quite fascinating.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Reptile’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
Catching Dee staring intently at some rocks alongside the path down to the beach, Ryo wandered over to see what he was looking at. “Find something interesting?”
“Yeah, come and see, just be careful you don’t scare them. They move really fast and it’s taken a while for them to come back.”
Ryo crept up alongside his lover to look; several small lizards were sunning themselves on the rocks. “Oh! But I thought you didn’t like reptiles?”
“I don’t like snakes, I’ve got nothing against lizards. These are sort of cute, look how tiny their feet are!”
Several kids came running down the path just then, eager to get to the beach, their parents trailing along more slowly behind them. In the blink of an eye the little lizards were gone as if they’d never been there.
Dee sighed. “Damn, I wanted to get a photo of them.”
Ryo hadn’t noticed until then that Dee had his phone out.
“Guess you’ll have to wait until they come out of hiding again.”
“Looks that way.” Dee stared up the path, frowning at the sight of another family on their way down. “Might be a long wait.”
Ryo grinned. “We’ve got time.”
