I really do love this character essay on Willow and her love life, but "screwing up every ounce of courage that she has" does hint that she messed up her courage- perhaps it's merely me making a mistake in understanding what you mean, but I do find that part most amusing.
This should also be crossposted, as it's so spectacular, Badly-Knitted, and as one of your hopefully entirely too many fans- if such a thing is even remotely possible, I formally beg you to post this in all of your accounts.
