Jaffa Fatherhood.

This story could be read as a take on things like fatherhood in the old testament days and societies; for the Goa'uld are very much akin to the pagan deities in the ancient world- in fact, they took on the mantles of that kind of being at that, and they sure act like demons at that as well.
Pretty darn good story, and the values are the best.
Stargate SG-1 could be read as a study of classical-world or ancient-world theology and religious histories; later series went downhill morally from there pretty darn fast, sadly, but this is set in the sound days.
And yes, it does appear that like the Jaffa, the pagans in those days were literally enslaved by their "gods"; very interesting idea, and thank you for giving me that concept and understanding.
