Doctor Who Drabble: Priceless

Title: Priceless
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: River Song.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 230: Bauble / Babble / Bobble at [livejournal.com profile] dw100.
Spoilers: The Husbands Of River Song.
Summary: If River is going to get her hands on this particular diamond, she’s going to need some help.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

The Halassi Androvar is perfect, flawless, priceless beyond belief, the most valuable diamond in the universe. All other diamonds, indeed all other gems of any kind, pale into insignificance beside it, mere baubles, worthless trinkets, insignificant bits of shiny mineral. River should know; she’s seen, stolen, and owned enough of them.

She’s never owned this one though, not yet, and her fingers itch because it’s so close and yet so far, lodged inside the equally insignificant brain of her ‘husband’. She’s supposed to return it to the Halassi, but…

First, looks like she needs a surgeon. Heads don’t remove themselves.

The End

I use to wear silver rings as a teenager. Sometimes I wear a ring, bracelet or necklace to compliment a look. Usually I forget to do so.:)

Lucky you could still call your mum.

I've only been a passenger on a scooter.

Yeah, I don't have the discipline for it. Could you imagine me with a wedding ring.:)

Well, I don't have to worry about that at the rate I'm going. That could be my excuse for why I'm not loved up yet."I don't do rings".*being silly*

I have to go for my learner's license again. I still remember how to drive. I need to practice parking and updating myself on the new knowledge test.

Very true.:)

Thanks, it's not my driving skills that I'm worried about. It's those who don't follow the road rules that I'm more concerned about.

Using public transportation is less pressure since you only have to be worried if you're late.

I don't trust anyone but myself to follow the road rules. Some pedestrians take that "I have righter way, no matter what" mentality too far.

You can't know for sure if a driver can stop their vehicle on time either.

It really is ridiculous how careless some people are on the road. It's beyond impatient.*shakes head*

I hate how they don't give a damn about other people's livelihoods.

That's why expensive fines are put in because apparently people can't stand to lose money. They put it above risking lives. Which could include their own.

Even then, there are those who really are psychologically incapable of being behind the wheel even with a license.

Of course people can die because of these idiots. I knew of a child being killed because someone didn't obey the speed limit at a school zone.

Incidents like this are unacceptable! I wish I could do something more than be angry with this issue.*frustrated*

I think it is a combination of impatience and arrogance. Like they're invincible. It can cause road rage.:(

[identity profile] cynthia2015.livejournal.com 2018-06-27 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
I know!*angry at them*

That should be enough motivation not to do stupid and dangerous things.

If they can't be rational, than they need to be off the road pronto. Not after an incident or a fatality has occurred.:(

The law can only warn people so much by penalty not to be dumb about driving.

[identity profile] cynthia2015.livejournal.com 2018-07-02 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's is so true. It's scary and so very wrong.:(
